[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hey, everyone. I'm Jane.
[00:00:01] Speaker B: I'm Kitten.
[00:00:02] Speaker A: As you know, my name is Pat. It's that time again. It's time for another episode of the Kinky Christian Podcast.
We are here one more time.
Hopefully not our last. We're gonna keep doing this until they boot us off all the podcasting platforms and. And YouTube and probably put us in chains and who knows what else they'll do.
Not in a good way, kitten. Oh, but you did find us again.
We are the Kinky Christian Podcast.
You see, we. We are.
This is Kitten.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: Hi.
And Master.
[00:00:53] Speaker A: Hi.
[00:00:57] Speaker B: We need a nap, in case you can't tell.
[00:00:59] Speaker A: Oh, I for. You know, I shouldn't say. I forget, but when you're a kid, you fight nap time so much.
[00:01:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:11] Speaker A: And then you get to be our age and you're like, what the heck was I thinking?
[00:01:16] Speaker B: Naps are the bomb.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: Naps are great.
So anyway, we are going to wrap up the book of Leviticus.
[00:01:30] Speaker B: Yay.
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Leviticus is a rough one because again, as you've seen in the last few episodes, it gives us the law. Like, not just the Ten Commandments, but it gets very detailed into everything. And of course, we only covered the sexual aspect of it all, but it talks about everything.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: You know, it's the giving of the law.
So we're going to wrap that up and there's not much to talk about. So unless we get squirreled again and see shiny objects and go off on our own little tangent, this could be a very short episode.
[00:02:05] Speaker B: That's okay.
[00:02:06] Speaker A: Is that okay?
[00:02:07] Speaker B: That is okay.
[00:02:08] Speaker A: That's always okay for you because it's nap time.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Or cheesecake 30.
[00:02:12] Speaker B: It's actually cheesecake 30.
[00:02:13] Speaker A: Yeah, see, I know, my kitten.
All right, so we're gonna. We only got a couple verses to talk about, and we kind of saved them and set them apart till the end. One, because that's the order in which it goes. But two, I think these verses are where some people get confused, and I could be wrong, but in my head, I think this is where things get a little confusing for some.
[00:02:38] Speaker B: Makes sense.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: So we're going to start in Leviticus 21, and we're going to go with verse seven.
So pay attention, because it says a lot. But then we need to clarify some things. So it says they must not marry women defiled by prostitution or divorced from their husbands.
Right, right.
So you think, oh, so prostitutes can't get married and divorced women can't get married. But then you finish it. It says, because priests are holy to their God, these are Instructions for priests, not the general population.
[00:03:28] Speaker B: Right.
[00:03:30] Speaker A: And basically this whole chapter of Leviticus, chapter 21, when you read it, there is a lot going on in this chapter.
However, what some people tend to forget about or overlook or flat out ignore, this is all for priests.
This whole chapter talks about the priests.
In fact, the very first verse in Leviticus 21 says, the Lord said to Moses, speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them.
So right off the bat, we know this only applies if we're going to go into the priesthood.
[00:04:26] Speaker B: I am not.
[00:04:28] Speaker A: Oh, neither am I.
I am not.
So. So, yeah, understand when it says they shall not marry a woman defiled by prostitution or divorced from their husbands, that's only for the priests.
We've already seen earlier in the Bible that you can marry prostitutes. You can marry divorced women.
In fact, in some cases, it was necessary by law to marry a divorced woman or a widow.
It gets very convoluted sometimes back then, but keep in mind, that's only for a priest.
And this next passage, I think, is one of the ones that gets confused the most because they always talk about, oh, you can't have sex before marriage. You got to be a virgin before you get married. And, you know, the Church always pushes that, I think, and I could be wrong, I think this is where it comes from. So we're going to look at Leviticus 21, and it's going to be verses 13 to 15.
I'll let you take this one, kid.
[00:05:42] Speaker B: The woman he marries must be a virgin.
[00:05:47] Speaker A: Right there.
[00:05:48] Speaker B: Right there.
[00:05:49] Speaker A: So people read that and say, oh, well, you got to be a virgin.
Yep, only for priests.
[00:06:00] Speaker B: He must not marry a widow, a divorced woman, or a woman defiled by prostitution, but only a virgin from his own people so that he will not defile his offspring among his people. I am the Lord who makes him holy.
[00:06:19] Speaker A: So the reason that this is is when God brought the Israelites out of Egypt and had the 12 tribes, he set aside a group of people to be the ones who served them. Okay?
So Aaron and his sons were the ones who God chose to be the ones to serve God.
So his whole lineage are the ones who are supposed to be the priests and the men of God, they're the.
[00:07:01] Speaker B: Ones who need to marry the virgins.
[00:07:04] Speaker A: Right? And they also need to stay amongst their own people.
So that way that lineage stays pure. So they are always the ones that serve God.
[00:07:16] Speaker B: Okay?
[00:07:17] Speaker A: That is why this is in there.
It's not in there for the congregation as a whole. It's not in There for every. At the time there are Israelites, but now we are just Christians. It is not in there for all of us. It is in there for the priests.
So now there is no lineage.
I highly doubt every preacher out there today is a descendant of Aaron.
[00:08:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Because there's a lot of preachers. I mean, we could be wrong.
[00:08:07] Speaker A: Could be wrong. I mean, but I. I'm gonna hazard a guess and say no.
So this verse, this, this section, it's gonna be difficult to do a lot of it. You know, you can. Well, I shouldn't say it's really gonna only be difficult to do the one. A virgin people.
[00:08:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:34] Speaker A: Who's our people?
[00:08:35] Speaker B: Who's our people?
I don't know how that's going to work these days, but. Yeah, we're going to fail.
[00:08:44] Speaker A: Well, we fail it so much anyway.
[00:08:47] Speaker B: That's why there's forgiveness and grace.
[00:08:49] Speaker A: Exactly.
But I do believe I could be wrong. We'll find out as we continue to go. But I do believe this is where a lot of people get tripped up. Get tripped up because they see the woman he marries must be a virgin.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:09:06] Speaker A: If I read that, I'm gonna think, oh, well, then I can't have sex until I get married.
[00:09:10] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: However, that's not the case.
[00:09:13] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:09:14] Speaker A: So far.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: So far.
[00:09:16] Speaker A: Now, if you.
If you go back and watch some of our previous episodes, you'll see what happens if you have sex with a woman who is promised to someone else or if you have sex with a slave before they're married. I mean, it never says any of it's a sin or wrong or disgraceful. It just says you must. Depending on the situation. You must do this, you know, or this.
[00:09:38] Speaker B: There are some. Or you will die.
[00:09:41] Speaker A: Yeah, but it's not if you have sex with someone before they're married or something.
[00:09:46] Speaker B: Right.
[00:09:47] Speaker A: That's if you bang your mom or your aunt or a goat.
[00:09:51] Speaker B: Don't do that, you know.
[00:09:55] Speaker A: So anyway, we are going to keep digging into this, but understand these passages that we just read to you are all the passages that deal with relationship and sex specifically to priests.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:10:16] Speaker A: So if you are going to be a priest, pay attention. Or if you are a priest, pay attention.
If you're not.
These do not apply to you.
You get a pass. Yep.
But this does wrap up Leviticus.
[00:10:35] Speaker B: Yes, it does.
[00:10:37] Speaker A: So three books down, 63 more to go.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:10:43] Speaker A: I think some of these are going to go quick anyway because, I mean, you read like judges or kings.
[00:10:49] Speaker B: And yeah, there's probably not.
[00:10:50] Speaker A: There's not a lot going on there, but then you're going to hit like Solomon.
[00:10:56] Speaker B: There's going to be a lot.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: I would imagine we're going to be talking about Solomon quite a bit.
So.
So it's not bad to have a simple one every once in a while. Short, simple.
[00:11:07] Speaker B: We'll take it.
[00:11:07] Speaker A: We'll take it.
