[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hey, everyone, I'm Jane. [00:00:01] Speaker B: I'm kitten. [00:00:02] Speaker A: As you know, my name is Pat. It's that time again. It's time for another episode of the Kinky Christian podcast. Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the latest and greatest episode of the Kinky Christian podcast. I, as always, am one of your hosts, Pat, and this lovely lady smirking next to me. [00:00:35] Speaker B: Awkward. [00:00:37] Speaker A: What? What's awkward? [00:00:43] Speaker B: Keep going. [00:00:44] Speaker A: Well, you gotta introduce yourself. [00:00:49] Speaker B: As always, as if you're gonna change yourself. [00:00:52] Speaker A: Well, this may be the first time somebody's listening to the podcast and they're gonna say, oh, that's Pat and the lovely lady sitting next to him. Man, I wish I knew what her name was. [00:01:06] Speaker B: They don't need to know. [00:01:06] Speaker A: They don't need to know. [00:01:07] Speaker B: No, I'm not important. [00:01:08] Speaker A: So introduce yourself. [00:01:09] Speaker B: Hi, I'm kitten. [00:01:10] Speaker A: So thank you. [00:01:13] Speaker B: You're welcome, Esther. [00:01:15] Speaker A: All right, so this episode, we're going to kind of do something a little different this time. Something we. We kind of did one other time when we did a review of a movie that we're privileged to have a. [00:01:32] Speaker B: Preview of, which is being released in several other countries. [00:01:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:40] Speaker A: With Max Carey. So congratulations, Max. We're proud of you. Keep it up. And if I saw correctly, he's got another project coming. At least he's trying to do another project. [00:01:55] Speaker B: He's in the beginning stages of the. [00:01:57] Speaker A: New project, putting another project together. So we'll keep an eye on that and keep you posted on that and support Max. [00:02:07] Speaker B: Yay, Max. [00:02:07] Speaker A: Yay, Max. But this time, what we wanted to do. Whoa. That could have been ugly. [00:02:16] Speaker B: It was funny to begin with, but. [00:02:18] Speaker A: They didn't see what happened. Oops. This time we are actually going to review a book instead of a movie ish. A book? What do you mean a bookish? [00:02:34] Speaker B: No, review ish. [00:02:36] Speaker A: Any review ish. It's a review. [00:02:38] Speaker B: We'll see how it goes. [00:02:41] Speaker A: So we've read a book, believe it or not. With what? Yeah, we can read. And we are going to tell you our thoughts on the book. And I consider that a review. Apparently some people think it's an ish, but. So I don't know if anyone actually looks at our Facebook page. Cause we don't have a website. We're not that computer savvy. But we posted a link to this on our Facebook page, and we'll post a link in the description below and tell you where to buy this. But someone we know, someone close to us, has written a book that we'd like to talk about, promote the book called Cotton Candy. And it is by the author, M. S. Silver. So the reason we're promoting this book and reviewing this book, not only because we know the author, but it deals with exactly what this podcast is about. So it deals with Christianity and kink and one couple's journey, I guess you'd call it struggles journey. [00:04:12] Speaker B: Yes, it was both. [00:04:14] Speaker A: So this book, I believe, is only available on Amazon. So if you go to. Currently, yes. So if you go to Amazon typing cotton candy by Ms. Silver, this should be the only one that pops up. I would hope, I would hope. But here's a picture of the COVID It's a pretty cool cover, but. So just to give you a little synopsis, this is from the author. They say young love never lasts, but art and Irene are determined to prove them wrong. From a teenage pregnancy with triplets to family drama, they refuse to give up. As the years march on, they're forced to confront the flaws in the foundation of their relationship or risk losing it all. This leads them down a different path than either ever expected as they fall into the world of bdsm and total power exchange. While art struggles to become the dom Irene needs, she must come to terms with the depth of her submission and rooted in everything is their faith, which is tried and tested alongside their love. Cotton candy is art and Irene's story of love, faith, and bdsm. So it really does deal with what our podcast is about, being kinky, being a Christian, and kind of how they intersect. I thought the book was well written. It has slow spots. It has intense spots. It has emotional spots forewarning anyone who reads this. It has explicit sex scenes. [00:06:15] Speaker B: Trigger warnings. [00:06:16] Speaker A: There are trigger warnings. There's things in here that may trigger some trauma, some traumas in people. It can be lighthearted at times. It can be very dramatic at times. It can be very emotional at times. It can be arousing at times. But what I really thought was cool about the book, at least for me, was how it's all in there. You know, it's not your typical romance or BDsm book where it's just like fantasy and nonstop vampires and werewolves and, you know, covens and all this crazy sex and crazy adventures all the time. It's a real life. You can. You can picture this story happening to. [00:07:16] Speaker B: You or someone close to you or. [00:07:19] Speaker A: Someone close to you. Yes. [00:07:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:21] Speaker A: It's very realistic. So you deal like it. Like it says, teenage pregnancy, family dramas, you know, and that's just kind of the. They deal with tragedies in life. They deal with, I don't want to give too much of the book away, but. And it has its highs and lows. There are times you're reading it and you're like, wow, this is just kind of boring. But every part in the story is there for a reason that you may not know while you're reading it, but it pays off down the road. That's at least my take. [00:08:07] Speaker B: And I like the way that it portrayed the struggle with the Christianity coming into a new lifestyle. And what does that look like? Are they doing the right thing? Are they not doing the right thing? I think that was part of the. [00:08:30] Speaker A: And you bring that up, and that's a good point, because not only does it deal with the struggle of Christianity as it pertains to their power exchange relationship, but it deals with Christianity in a way that, like, because at the beginning of the book, there's no Christianity. You know, Art and Irene, they're not really. It doesn't really say whether they're christians or not. [00:09:01] Speaker B: No, it's not in there. [00:09:03] Speaker A: But their struggle just to find their faith first is something they deal with also. You know, once they realize they're missing something and they search for their faith, and then they find their faith, and then what that does when they go down this bdsm road now, you know, you've got this faith in church telling them one thing and then to save their relationship and, you know, whatever. Like I said, I don't want to give too much away. Now they're trying to blend the two, I guess. [00:09:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a good description, you know. [00:09:48] Speaker A: I mean, but still stay God honoring, right? At least that's what I got out of this. [00:10:00] Speaker B: Yes. [00:10:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:02] Speaker B: Yes. [00:10:03] Speaker A: So what did you think of the. The story and the book? [00:10:08] Speaker B: And there was a lot of. Coming from a female. There's a lot of emotional roller coasters in there. The traumas are triggering because of my own. [00:10:25] Speaker A: Right. [00:10:27] Speaker B: So just make sure you have your tissue and your counselor close by. I was pleased with the book and how it portrayed their life situations and, you know, how they navigated things because it's reality. Yeah, that was the thing for me is, you know, yes, I read a lot of smut. [00:10:59] Speaker A: This is why I said vampires and werewolves and covens and supernatural things. [00:11:05] Speaker B: And I enjoy my books, and, yes, I do read some that are reality. [00:11:11] Speaker A: So I don't know. I'm just. Every time you talk to me about one, it's always, oh, this lady was teleported off to this world where there's nothing but alpha werewolves, and she's the secret sauce to their saving their wolf pack. [00:11:29] Speaker B: You always need the secret sauce. Or the kitten. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Or the kitten. I got my kitten. [00:11:35] Speaker B: Or two or three, so. And I'm reading a real life, real life one now, so. Yeah, kind of funny, kind of ironic, isn't it? Ironic. Cause they. They do exist. [00:11:53] Speaker A: They are out there, few and far between. [00:11:56] Speaker B: I don't know that that's true. [00:11:58] Speaker A: I read them, so I don't. [00:11:59] Speaker B: Right. You are not an authority on this. [00:12:04] Speaker A: I just know what my kitten tells me and she. All I hear is the vampires and the werewolves and the covens and if. [00:12:10] Speaker B: I told you about every book that I read. [00:12:13] Speaker A: Oh, I wouldn't want to. Yeah, I wouldn't want to hear about that. So. I mean, quite honestly, I read this one just because we know the author. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Yeah. This is not up your cup of tea. [00:12:26] Speaker A: This really isn't my cup of tea, quite honestly. I'm a comic book guy, so if there was pictures in here, probably, probably would have been better. But that's okay. [00:12:38] Speaker B: It may not have gotten on Amazon. [00:12:39] Speaker A: It may not have gotten on Amazon yet, so. Yeah. And there is, apparently there's a. Another book coming because there's a preview in the back. You get a little preview of the next book from Ms. Silver called that girl. So when that girl comes out, we. [00:13:02] Speaker B: Will, of course, read and review. [00:13:05] Speaker A: Read and review that one too, and we'll do a review ish. So I recommend the book. It just came out, I don't know, a month or two ago. I think it was in March is when it came out, the end of March. So it's fairly new. But check it out. We like to support people like Max and our. [00:13:29] Speaker B: Go, Max. [00:13:30] Speaker A: Go, Max and our friend Ms. Silver. But, yeah, it really does do a very good job, in my opinion, about. You broke it. I did. So what you guys missed was when I was talking about the book, I had it sitting in my lap and as I'm talking about it, it, like, fell and was going between my legs and was gonna hit the floor. So I, like lucky book, squeezed the. Squeezed my legs all together to try to catch it and, yeah, so I dented it a little bit. That's all right. I think I need to have our friend sign it anyway, so maybe get a different one. [00:14:15] Speaker B: After you broke it. [00:14:17] Speaker A: After I broke it. So again, check it out. Cotton candy by Ms. Silver. Excellent portrayal of a couple and their struggles. [00:14:35] Speaker B: I guess you call it navigation. [00:14:37] Speaker A: Navigation. There. That's a great word of Christianity, bdsm and power exchange. And there's more more in there. And like I said, it's a roller coaster ride. It even got me emotional a couple times. And, you know, that's hard to do. That's hard to do. So anyway, that is our review of cotton candy. Again, we'll have the link, the Amazon link, in the description below. But if you just go to Amazon, type in cotton candy by Ms. Silver, it should come up. Leave a review for the author on Amazon if you do decide to read it or purchase it. And then also tell us what you think. [00:15:25] Speaker B: And we do not get any kickbacks, by the way. [00:15:28] Speaker A: This is just. This is just us. Yeah. Promoting of what we. Yeah. If it was a bad book, we wouldn't promote it. Even if we. Even though we know the author, we want to promote it. [00:15:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:39] Speaker A: But it is a good book. I'm excited to read that, girl. That seems like it might. I don't know. [00:15:49] Speaker B: Chapter one was fun. [00:15:50] Speaker A: Chapter one was really fun. Yeah, it was. That was very emotional. So may or may not. Yeah, we'll see. [00:15:59] Speaker B: I'll bring you tissues. [00:16:00] Speaker A: You bring me to tissues so I. [00:16:01] Speaker B: Can cry like counselor? [00:16:03] Speaker A: I can cry like a little girl. [00:16:04] Speaker B: Hey. So boys cry. [00:16:06] Speaker A: They do. So until it is. I'm not saying it's not. Okay, I do cry. I've cried. I'm crew. You've seen me cry numerous times. [00:16:15] Speaker B: Okay. [00:16:16] Speaker A: You know, I cried like a little baby. I got no problems admitting that I. [00:16:21] Speaker B: Cry like a little baby when it's warranted. [00:16:24] Speaker A: When? Well, yeah, but I don't whine well, yeah, I do. [00:16:29] Speaker B: Wait a minute. [00:16:30] Speaker A: When I'm sick, I whine worse than a little baby. Oh, yeah. Oh, it's horrible. You don't want to see me when I'm sick. [00:16:37] Speaker B: No, no, no. [00:16:40] Speaker A: See, she basically becomes like, mom, do you need some soup, honey? Can I get you in? [00:16:48] Speaker B: I'm already like that. Who are you kidding? [00:16:51] Speaker A: Yeah, but it's worse when I'm sick. [00:16:54] Speaker B: I can't leave your side. Cause you're always attached to the boob. [00:16:57] Speaker A: Well. Cause that's my comfort food. Titty sprinkles. [00:17:03] Speaker B: Titty sprinkles. [00:17:06] Speaker A: So until next time, everyone, take care of yourselves. Take care of each other, and God bless. Yeah. Titty sprinkles. Titty sprinkles. Go with everything. [00:17:38] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. Master, what are we gonna do with you? [00:17:41] Speaker A: Give me titty sprinkles. Okay.
